So apparently last year the National Park Service in the US dropped an over 1200 page study of LGBTQ American History as part of their Who We Are program which includes studies on African-American history, Latino history, and Indigenous history.

Like. This is awesome. But also it feels very surreal that maybe one of the most comprehensive examinations of LGBTQ history in America (it covers sports! art! race! historical sites! health! cities!) was just casually done by the parks service

This is really great??

We used it in my LGBT history class and it’s SO WONDERFUL I LOVE it PLEASE READ at least some chapters. It has photos and sources and goes into detail in footnotes when it doesn’t have time for a tangent.

Cyntoia Brown (29 years old now) was 16 years old when she was imprisoned for killing a 43 year old man in self defense.

She’s been ordered to serve 51 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole. The Tennessee Governor can grant her clemency and free her before he leaves office in January.

Contact Tennessee Governor and urge him to grant clemency for Cyntoia before he leaves office. Call, write letters, send emails:

hi! i’m multiply disabled and my total income is roughly half minimum wage - difficult to survive on at the best of times, but almost impossible when medical expenses start to mount. my monthly premiums have gone way up, my monthly prescription costs have spiked dramatically, and i have also been sick literally nonstop for over two months on top of my usual chronic illnesses and disabilities.

i am struggling with basic necessities like food and medicine. there are also some small children whose christmas is entirely dependent on what i am able to provide them, which currently isn’t much.

if you would like to help me, i have a paypal and a necessities wishlist

if you would like to make a poor family’s christmas a bit merrier, i also have this christmas wishlist that’s mostly kid gifts

please don’t feel pressured to help, i’m just throwing this out there in case anyone with the resources feels like lending a hand. ♥
